Day 284: Sort and Organize Toys (Theirs or Yours!)

Posted by J at 6:00 AM

Today's Positivity activity: Go through the kids' toys* and sort/organize/rotate

Do this instead of:  1 hr of random Facebook patrol.

I try to do a household challenge on Wednesdays, and this week's is something I like to do before the holidays. Each year, I go through the kids' toys and sort out what has been broken, outgrown, or otherwise no longer cherished, and we make decisions about donating/tossing out the old to make way for the new gifts that are coming. Although we've decided the emphasis on gifts will be greatly downsized this year, the tradition of clearing out the old to make way for new is still a valid bit of household positivity.

*If you're following along and do not have children, you can still participate in this challenge. Chances are you own some leisure time items (if not actual "toys"), such as games (video or board games), hobbies, or sporting equipment. Spend an hour sorting through some of those fun things and see what you don't use or no longer works.  Or, if you have a pampered pet, go through their toys and check for things that need to be tossed or are not enjoyed.

The Results: Toys have been given a cursory once-over and the herd culled, LOL. Everything is organized and has a place.
