Day 45: Organize One Drawer

Posted by J at 6:00 AM

Wednesdays are all about household positivity! Cleaning, clearing, organizing, and embellishing...your living space needs a boost of TLC too!
Today's Positivity activityChoose one drawer in the house and clean it out!

Clutter. It creeps up subtly, silently until it threatens to overtake the house. Tackling clutter can be such an overwhelming prospect that it can be difficult to know where to start. So today, handle ONE drawer, and one drawer only, to get the ball rolling.

BONUS POSITIVITY if you schedule a Drawer Day once a month (or however often) on your calendar and make this a regular thing until all your drawers are handled. Then start over again! (And it'll be that much easier on the next go-round.)

For your journaling today: Write down today's challenge. Did you work on a drawer? Note your thoughts about how it went. You can be as detailed as you wish, or you can simply jot one or two sentences about it.
Optional: Note your daily Positivity Quotient. by rating the following on a scale of 1-100:

Today's Positivity activity: Choose one drawer and clean it out!
Do this instead of:  1 hr of Facebook surfing while ignoring my personal clutter.

Clutter. It creeps up subtly, slowly, and silently until it threatens to overtake my house. Even when my "surface" areas appear neat to the casual visitor, danger lurks in closets, behind furnishings, and stuffed into drawers about to burst. Tackling clutter can be such an overwhelming prospect that I don't know where to start-so I don't. Today I will handle ONE drawer, and only one, to give my house and myself a happy boost.

The Results: I almost let this one get away from me today! My son came over and we got caught up talking and laughing for several hours. But I remembered at the end of the night and tackled the bottom in my chest of drawers. I ruthlessly threw out a bag full of Unnecessary Stuff. Feeling good, and I am going to keep chipping away at that chest until it's under control.
